Sales at this year’s Chelsea Painters Art Fair turned out to be better than expected, despite the depressed economy and slow traffic. Those who came were clearly there to buy. This was good news for participating artists, as we all wondered going into the fair how much the economy would affect it. I appreciate this art fair because of its strong following of committed collectors, but also for the numerous opportunities that always present themselves during the art fair.

There is nothing quite like putting a body of work together and then observing first-hand the reaction people have to it. That, in itself, is a learning experience. which often answers the question:  ” Am I getting my message across? Plus, there’s something important to the painting process about seeing, and being able to study,  several pieces of your art hung together.
